Acupuncture at The Clinic

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into several points around the body. The needles are extremely fine are generally not uncomfortable. The treatment takes about 45 minutes and during this time most patients feel calm and relaxed. The treatment rooms are kept warm and comfortable, to help you get the maximum benefits from your treatment.

How often can you have treatment?

Treatments are planned around your presenting condition and this will be discussed on your first visit. It is very common to work out a treatment plan and then as your condition alters the treatment plan can also be altered to provide some type of maintenance program.

What is important when choosing your acupuncturist?

You can receive acupuncture by seeking out a specialist trained Acupuncturist who would generally have received at least 3 years training before they are fully qualified to practice. You may want to check that they are registered with The British Acupuncture Federation and the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians. These are the governing body for many acupuncturists who have received training involving a Traditional Chinese Medical viewpoint. Generally all acupuncturists continue to study throughout their careers and therefore continue to add to their initial knowledge.

Patients frequently come to the clinic with unusual or complicated symptoms. If you would like advice regarding your condition and the suitability of the treatments offered here for your problem please call we will be only to happy to help.
